AskWoodMan.com This is the firstvideo in my complete sharpening series. In this series I will use the following tools and machines: Makita 9820 electric water stone with an after market sharpening jig, Bosch belt sander, Porter Cable belt sander, Mitutoyo combination square, General Sharpening Jig, DMT Diamond Stones, and various chisels, plane irons and scrapers. This first video shows how to make a plexiglass jig that I use when sharpening with the diamond stones. This jig is an essential element for this sharpening technique. This diamond stone holding jig allows for optimum safety and efficiency. When the diamond stones are secure this allows you to move quickly while transitioning between the four different grits and two sharpening positions. This video ends with a short overview of the very unique Fein MultiMaster. The MultiMaster does cutting operations no other tool does. In this video I use my General 350 table saw, Mitutoyo combination square set, a marking knife and pen, and the Fein MultiMaster oscillating saw. This video is just one in the series where Allan Little shows all his sharpening techniques that he has refined in the last 25 plus years to attain the sharpest chisels, plane irons and scrapers.
